JBoss Server Management UI Spec

This document describes the JBoss specific parts of the Server Manager and the Add Server Instance wizard UI. See the J2EE Server Management UI Spec for the general parts of the UI.

Wizard: Add Server Instance

The first step of this wizard is common for all servers:

The second step asks for the JBoss installation directory. The panel checks whether the directory entered by the user represents a valid installation of JBoss 4. If an invalid location is provided, an error message is shown:

Wizard buttons' behavior:

  • Back button - always enabled.
  • Next button - enabled only if a valid JBoss installation directory is specified.
  • Finish button - always disabled.

Server Manager

The third panel allows to specify various properties. The possible values for Domain are "minimal", "default" and "all". Domain path and host are read only.

Wizard buttons' behavior:

  • Back button - always enabled.
  • Next button - always disabled.
  • Finish button - enabled only if a valid port is entered, otherwise an error message appears: "Enter a valid port number".

Server Manager

UI for Classes, Sources and Javadoc tabs is common for all servers and is described in the J2EE Server Management UI Spec.

The JBoss plugin does not provide any additional JBoss-specific tabs:

Runtime Tab

The following is the screenshot of the JBoss server node in the runtime tab and its popup menu.

The "View Admin Console" action launches the JBoss web-based admin console in the default web browser. The "Properties" action displays the Server Manager with the JBoss server pre-selected.
